Opportunities in BITS!

Gear up to work for the world's largest technical community across Multimedia, Public Relations, Content and Logistics BITS.

A BIT is not a title on a group chat. It is a desk with work on it, passed from one batch to the next.

You bring the hours. The chapter brings the brief, the deadline, and everyone who has shipped it before.

MULTIMEDIA, WRITING, OPERATIONS, OUTREACH. STUDENT JUDGEMENT, HANDED ON EVERY YEAR.

Nº002 / THE WORK

What comes out of the society.

Posters, teasers, reports, campaigns, run-sheets. Every artefact below started as a line in a brief and ended up in front of the college.

01 / Orientation
02 / Treasure Hunt
03 / Workshop Series
04 / Hack Night
05 / Tech Quiz
06 / Synthverse
07 / Wrap-up

OUR WORK

EVENTS, WORKSHOPS, HACKATHONS, OUTREACH. THE WORK CHANGES EVERY SEMESTER. THE STANDARD DOES NOT.

Nº003 / WHY JOIN

It's a whole different year. You'll wonder why you waited.

Nº001

Real briefs, real deadlines

You are handed the actual poster, the actual report, the actual venue call, with the date already printed on the notice.

Nº002

Seniors who review

Every piece is read before it goes out, and you are told what is wrong and why, in writing.

Nº003

A portfolio that survives

By the end of the year you have shipped work with your name against it, and it outlasts the year.

Nº004

The largest technical community

IEEE Computer Society is international. The chapter is your door in, and it stays open long after you hand the BIT on.

Nº005

Room to move

Start in one BIT, help another when it is short-handed, and take the lead when you are ready.

Nº004 / THE FOUR BITs

Four desks, one chapter. Pick the one that matches what you already like doing, or the one that scares you slightly. Both are defensible.

Read the Public Relations BIT

MULTIMEDIA AND CONTENT MAKE WHAT PEOPLE SEE AND READ. LOGISTICS AND PUBLIC RELATIONS MAKE THE EVENT HAPPEN AND FILL UP. NONE OF IT IS FIXED.

Nº006 / CORE TEAM

Eight people carry the year, then hand it on. Between them they hold the four BITs, the calendar, and the answer to whatever you were about to ask.

Apply to join them

THE CORE TEAM SETS THE CALENDAR AND SIGNS OFF THE WORK BEFORE IT LEAVES THE CHAPTER. THEY ARE STUDENTS TOO, ON THE SAME TIMETABLE. NEXT YEAR IT IS SOMEBODY ELSE'S TURN.
